Well, it's time to start anew.

I am sick of the fifteen hundred people that call me a "contact" on flickr. I am sort of sick of toys.

Hopefully this is the last and final "move." This is the name you'll find me at most anywhere: AIM, gmail, etc.

Okay, see you there!

It took from 7am to 10pm to get everything done, just Sam and I and boxes upon boxes going down four flights of stairs. Little ol' me lifting huge solid wood furniture. I'd go for a box and Sam'd say "You can't carry that," so I'd stack another one on top and carry both. Haha.

All of this running on just a pretzel from IKEA and half of a bag of Pirate Veggie Booty.

Every muscle in my body aches and I have bruises in places I didn't know I could.

Today is the last day of the Topsfield Fair and we can't go because we have apartment things to do. So so so sad.

I woke up at a quarter to 5. Just... ZING popped right up and out of bed. Ugh.

Yesterday we found this crazy huge warehouse in the middle of nowhere, full of furniture including a kitschy red player piano, vintage Danish armchairs, velvet-tufted armchairs... it was crazy. We didn't have room to buy anything big, but we bought an antique cabinet to use as a TV stand. + We stumbled upon THE most illegitimate thrift store/food pantry I have ever been to and found a white owl lamp in the basement for 5 bucks.

So, we have all of this crap out and ready to move, but absolutely no boxes to pack them in.

We have to drive to Pembroke to pick up my desk and dresser, then to Stoughton for IKEA, then to South Walpole for Sam's desk, then possibly to pick up a sofa, then home again, then Salem, then home again, then Salem again.

Today is going to be a LONG day.

It is really hard to believe that we are moving to Salem tomorrow.

I went through my old box full of CDs that I purchased from age 15-19ish. I am taking them to Newbury Comics, to free up space. I kept only the albums that I feel defined me at some point. The albums that I can still listen to, start to finish, and feel something.

What I kept:

Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose
Pinback - Offcell
The Robot Ate Me - Carousel Waltz
Mates of State - Our Constant Concern
Mates of State - Team Boo
Optiganally Yours - Exclusively Talentmaker
Home Split - Benjamin Gibbard/Andrew Kenny
Death Cab for Cutie - Transatlanticism (Shut the fuck up.)
Justin Sane - Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Justice
Rob Crow - My Room Is a Mess
Pinback - s/t
Against Me! - Crime as Forgiven By
Against Me! - (Some 7" I've never known the name of.)

It is really a shame. My favorite favorite artists of all time, I have found since I stopped buying CDs. I should man up and buy their albums, huh?

So, it was only a matter of time before the people on craigslist were added to my "online communities that annoy the fuck out of me" list. It went as follows:

Me: Are these end tables made of particleboard or solid wood?
Them: I have no idea.
Me: Can you check, please?
Them: This isn't going to work.
Me: Why? I am asking a simple question.
Them: I don't expect someone like you to want to buy my $30 end tables. Go to Williams and Sonoma. LOL.
Me: Okay, I'd rather not buy from somebody that says "LOL," anyways.
Them: LOL

OH. Lastly - Sam and I just coerced a squirrel down three flights of stairs and out of our building. He kept peeing on everything and chattering his teeth. The squirrel, not Sam.

This is mostly for Summer.

You know those shows that you're a little ashamed to be watching, but you can't help it because they're just so good? My newest guilty pleasure is Supernatural. I say "guilty" because we've blazed through three seasons before I feel obligated to mention it.

Everything about this show goes against every fiber of my being and logic. Sure, circles of salt will protect you, the only way to kill a vampire is decapitation, only pure iron or holy water will hurt a demon - whatever you say guys. The concept of things JUST BEING without any scientific reasoning drives me up a wall. The show is so over-the-top ridiculous with evil Pagan gods, werewolves, and the like that you kind of just accept it as entertainment.

My friend Summer is probably more obsessed with this show than I've ever known anyone to be obsessed with a show. I gave it a chance because we were waiting for the premiers of all of our "regulars." For at least the entire first season I held the blanket over my eyes because I am literally the biggest scaredy cat ever.

I don't know if it's the actors or the writers or the directors, but it's just SO GOOD. I love Dean and Sam and pretty much every character. Usually there's that dumbass you find yourself yelling at because they ruin everything always, but not with this show.

Except, I don't know if I'm liking Sam so far this season.
So, there's my rundown on Supernatural.

Working on my "Grandma's Cottage in the Woods" bedroom. It's a little tacky, but it's perfect for fall and winter. I am heading to the thrift store to seek out granny-square afghans, doilies, rocking chairs, and whatnot.

I sort of hate that when I search for inspiring cottage homes, they're all beach cottages with frilly shabby chic decor. I've never been to a beach cottage in my life and that much white and pink in one house just does not seem natural.

OH, this might be important? I am starting anew. Next week my AIM, gmail, flickr, and blog will all be switched to a new name. You'll know when it happens.

Besides the fact that when I first met him I gifted him homemade "elf cakes," this is also why I love David:

I just bought my Halloween costume at Urban Renewals. Well, one half. The other half involves a box of hair dye. Yesh.

Because eBay is so massively sucky, the "brand new" bedding that I bought turned out to have a stain and dirt. As I attempt to wrestle a FULL refund (asshole wants to give me only partial, or I pay to send the thing back) out of the seller, I have to find new bedding.

Maybe new plan? I am wondering if I want to just splurge for totally girly cottage bedding. It's always tempted me. Would I tire of it or would I feel complete?

Target's:

Or a cheaper IKEA alternative:

Thoughts?

We bought our first tea kettle. Aw. We also purchased my future desk at an antique store. A gray-painted farm table.

Things I seriously need to start doing to keep my iron and iron absorption in check:

Buy a cast iron skillet.
Drink orange juice.
Eat more legumes, nuts, seeds (hello, pumpkin seeds!), whole grains, dark leafy greens, and dried fruits.

Sounds good to me.

My birthday (in April) was sort of a bust, so Sam just gifted me these things out of no where:
